My name is Hayden Stainsby.
I’m a 28 year old living in Barcelona.
I study mathematics.
I am doing a PhD in mathematics at the Universitat Autonòma de Barcelona, specifically in number theory, a branch of pure mathematics. I’ll be working on computation of one-dimensional integral closures, just don’t ask me exactly what that means yet.
I work for a comic book store.
Actually I work for Titan Entertainment Group, one part of which is Forbidden Planet a comic and pop culture store in the UK, but it sounds cooler this way. The other two parts are Titan Books and Titan Magazines. Can you see the pattern yet?
I write software.
Most of what I’ve written is either in-house projects for Titan, or it’s web sites. If I had a choice I probably wouldn’t stray very far from Objective-C and the Cocoa framework used for written Mac software. Unfortunately it’s not usually up to me.
To date, my biggest success has been a series of iPhone comic apps I wrote for Titan Magazines. I wrote a base app which could be easy adjusted to compile with different content. The first issue of Wallace & Gromit (The W Files) did very well, sitting at #1 in the free app listing of the books category for well over a month in the UK, and making it as high as #3 in the free app listing for the whole app store. Recently I have completed a comic library app that houses all this content in a single app, check out Titan Comics for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
I have also written a number of apps for business-to-business agency Bravo Tango Bravo. Smash Assist, Truckie’s Mate, and a third that will be available soon.
Other, just as complete if not nearly as successful projects I’ve completed are Don’t Rush and it’s sister site in the United Kingdom UK Audtitions. A web site for orchestras and ensembles to post auditions for musicians to find.
I have an email address.
