Navidad en Granada
We were back in Granada for Christmas and New Years this year, with Andrea's family. Of course the biggest difference was that Bruno got to experience his very first Christmas. I think that the wrapping paper was probably the highlight for him (and the blanket I made, of course!). We all had a great time, Andrea and I got some much needed rest and lots was eaten and drunk.

Summer In Granada
I spent a week and a half in Granada with Andrea and her family this August. Bruno, who was a bit over two months old, was a big feature. He met Pepe and pack for the first time and was generally the centre of attention. Andrea and I also went the the Alhambra for a night visit, which was magical.

Fin de la Festa Major de Gràcia 2011
At the end of the week the Festa Major de Gràcia is over and we have to take everything down. After what seemed like hours cutting all the wire out of the cloth used for the ceiling (including the hundreds of starts stuck to it) we were finished and a very happy, but very tired group of guarnidors and guarnidores celebrated another successful year in Carrer Progrés.

Concurs de truites 2011
The annual tortilla (truita in catalan) competition saw some really interesting entries including a kabab tortilla from Marc that won 2nd place and a spaghetti tortilla (complete with mushroom and spaghetti jellyfish on top) from Navas and Ari that won 1st place.

Guarnits del Carrer Progrés 2011
I didn't get as many good photos of the decorations in our street this year as I would have liked to. The theme was intergalactic travels, the street being composed of four separate planets; an ice planet, a psychedelic planet, a fire planet, and a jungle planet.

Lliurament de Premis 2011
The prize presentation. This year Carrer Progrés came 5th place in the street decoration competition (out of 19) as well as winning the special prize for the entrance. After the presentation we all returned to take some photos with our prize winning entrance and a few people (including myself) got tossed into the fountain that forms part of the entrance.

Decorating Carrer Progrés 2011
Once again I helped out putting together the decorations for the Festa Major Gràcia in my street this year. These photos are mostly from the last couple of days before the street festival began, showing all the progresencs and progresenques working hard to finish the steet.

Tarragona
Discovering we had an, as then, unknown long weekend coming up, Andrea and I took the train down to Tarragona for a night. It was a nice chance to get out of Barcelona and see some of the remnants of the Roman city Tarraco which once stood where Tarragona lies now.

Wedding in Salamanca
Andrea and I attended the wedding of José Manual (Andrea's cousin) and Anabel in Salamanca. It was my first experience of a spanish wedding and we all had a great time.

Calçotada Progrés 2011
Photos from the annual (my second) Calçotada in Carrer Progrés, where I live in Gràcia.

Mike & Soph's wedding
The last wedding in Australia for a while, Mike & Soph had their official wedding at the registry office and then a fantastic reception at Matteo's afterwards.

Festa Major de Gràcia 2010
After all the preparation and the decorations, around came the Festa Major. A week long street party in the barri of Gràcia in Barcelona. From the bar to the stage there were lots, and lots, and lots of people. Loads of music, fancy dress (as a Dragonball character) competition, and then on the last night a tortilla contest (they were all really good) and karaoke. I've just got a selection of the photos I took up here, especially with the karaoke I tried to limit it to one photo per group. Then on the last night we pulled it all down again.

Festa Major 2010: Carrer Progrés decorations
The theme for the decorations (guarniments) in Carrer Progrés for the Festa Major de Gràcia this year was *Bola de Drac*, Dragonball for those of us who watched the series in English. They were quite spectacular, although obviously I'm a little biased. My main contribution involved painting the flippers and head of master Roshi's turtle, oh and painting lots of green for body segments, but I think almost everyone did that.

Preparations for the Festa Major de Gràcia 2010
This year I helped out with the decorations in my street for the yearly street festival in Gràcia, the barri (like a suburb) where I live. These are some photos from the last week of preparations.

Lappeenranta and back to Helsinki
After a few days in Helsinki, Andrea and I headed over to Lappeenranta, a small town on the largest lake in Finland. A cruise across the lake and lots of time to rest and recuperate from the last couple of months before heading back to Helsinki for the last night of the trip.

Granada for Semana Santa
A group of us headed down to Granada for Semana Santa where Andrea showed us around her "pueblo". Granada is a really beautiful city, and one of the most impressive parts is the [Alhambra](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alhambra) a castle and fortification which sits above central Granada built originally by the Moors and then later added to by the the Holy Roman Emperor Carlos V.

Calçotada de Progrés
Last Saturday was the Calçotada in Carrer Progrés - organised by the streets Comisió de Festes, this includes me. So it was up at sparrow's (well, pretty early) on Saturday morning to get the tables laid out and start the barbecues. Andrea, Gonza and Claudia came along to eat in the afternoon as well.

UAB Evacuació
There was a little bit of snow today (okay, more than I've seen in any place I've lived before) and Barcelona isn't really one of those cities which is ready for snow. Even so, when I found out they were evacuating the UAB because of the snow I thought it was a going a bit far, anywhere here are some photos from the "evacuation".

New Years with 'Zee Germans'
I spent New Years with Johannes and some of his friends who came from Germany. Along with Eva, we had dinner at home and then headed to Marianne's place for midnight where there were - yep, you guessed it - more Germans.

Cena Caótica
The annual christmas dinner in the department of Computer Architecture and Operation Systems (CAOS).
My (recent) life through photos, these are taken directly from my Flickr page after I got tired of how long it took to upload photos with my custom hacked together photo page.
I’m missing a lot of photos here, so bare with me.
