You don’t have to be a genius, but sometimes it helps

I’ve recently found some archives of old stuff I’d written, from web sites that have long [insert bad internet metaphor here = died]. One of the things I did find was a reference to one of my favourite lecturers at Monash, Peter Atkinson. During my first semester I had a digital technology class with him, and we never saw him enter the lecture theatre once. We’d be sitting around talking and then all of a sudden he’d be at the front of the room.

He said a few memorable things, and was my first university introduction to lecturers who actually enjoy teaching. My favourite, however was this one, in reference to filling out Karnaugh maps.
