It means mask. I went to a bar last night that had a “masquerade party”. The bar is a really nice little place in el Raval called Bar Can Can, I haven’t been there before, it was another night out thanks to lecool. Unfortunately there was a large number of finglish there, although I managed to find myself some friends from Chile and Argentina at the beginning of the night and they were pretty cool.
I also had someone tell me that their favourite Australian animal was the sloth. This caused me a bit of confusion at first because I thought maybe I’d got the word wrong, but in the end I worked out that they really believed that sloth are from Australia. Just in case anyone else has the same problem, the word for sloth in Spanish is perezoso (it also means lazy).
